Next Steps

The next steps based on peer feedback include:

  • User test the current design with a diverse audience to test user satisfaction and ease of use.

  • Design further iterations based on user testing and test further.

  • Analyze data thoroughly and prioritize issues while embracing failures to improve future iterations.

Visual Design

- Crafted a modern design system inspired by tech aesthetics, incorporating sleek typography and a bold color palette.

- Ensured the design was fully responsive, with particular focus on mobile optimization.

Prototype

- Created interactive prototypes using Figma to simulate user interactions.

- Conducted usability testing with a sample of 4 participants, resulting in valuable feedback and design refinements.

Sketch

- Created several sketch iterations during a collaborative sketch session with the team of designers

- Discussed among the designers what the ideas behind the sketches were and the pros/cons of each

Moodboard

- Analyzed key competitors such as UberEats and DoorDash to pinpoint successful features.

- Observed that efficient product display and personalized data overviews were essential for e-commerce success.

User Story

- As a user, I want the ability to view market performance in real-time so that I can understand how the market is performing and know if adjustments are needed.

- As a user, I want the ability to view market performance indicators for any given previous day or week.

- As a user, I want the ability to set alerts and be alerted when I need to make interventions.

- As a user, I want the ability to make real-time interventions to improve market conditions — informing customers food will be delivered outside the 20-minute window or temporarily halting order collection.

- As a user, I want the ability to plan for the following day or week by setting the number of drivers and amount of food production.

- As a user, I want the ability to see internal conditions affecting market health at any given time or time period — number of drivers and productivity of kitchens.

- As a user, I want the ability to see external conditions affecting market health at any given time or time period — traffic and weather.

- As a user, I want the ability to quickly understand market performance at a high-level, but be able to drill down to understand “the why”.

Improved User Satisfaction:

The current design accounts for the client’s requested key features, as well as additional features that key competitors implemented to improve user satisfaction.

Include AI to Manage Planning:

The current design leaves room to include AI implementation in order to assist with reacting to weather anomalies, street closures, and other unforeseen items that would require additional planning.

Real-Time Interventions:

The current design includes informing customers if/when food will be delivered outside of the allotted time, as well as the ability to temporarily halt order collection.

Overview

A thriving startup food delivery, Turbo Eats, promises to deliver delicious food in 20-minutes or less. It is believed that they can achieve this by having a limited selection that can be prepared at strategically location kitchens and kept warm on food delivery trucks equipped with warmers. The service has launched with “burrito delivery only” in Chicago, but plans to expand to other cuisines in the future.

The ask is to create an interface for Market Managers — the people responsible for customer satisfaction and profitability in a certain geographic area. To do so, our team created a brand guide to follow throughout each step of the sprint.
